Process
There are many processes that go into each individual mask. New masks require a different prep then used masks or previously custom painted masks. I assure you that every mask is properly prepped with no lazy short cuts. The prep is the most important part of a good, durable custom job.
The design process is fairly simple. I will work with you closely to ensure you're getting what you want. I use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Autodesk Sketchbook for designing. Many times I start with a pencil sketch too. The design time is key to the overall turn around time. If we are able to get the look you want quickly then I can get to painting your mask faster.
Finishing a mask usually takes a couple days because the clear needs to cure well enough to wet sand. I prefer to wait 24 hours to sand and apply another layer or 2 of clear. I also recommend that when you receive your mask the you let it sit for a week to let everything fully harden or "gas off." You can use your mask but you will risk chipping. I also use some preventative methods to help reduce the risk of chipping. Always take care of your mask and it will take care of you! I'm not responsible for careless use of the mask, e.g. dropping it, not putting it away in a proper mask bag etc. If the mask chips, bring it back after the season is over for some touch ups....the cost is low.
The cost of shipping a mask to and from me is the responsibility of the client. Keep that in mind when it's time to ship the mask back to your location.
